So Sick

homer-sick

Since Thursday afternoon until now I’m so sick, I spent all weekend in bed and today I’m at work. I need to sleep I’m so tired and my fever is going up and down its wearing me out. I have a major event in 2 days I don’t know how I’m going to attend not only am I sick but I still can’t wear high heels and my Oscar De La Renta dress needs heels. How can I wear such a beautiful dress with ballerinas or flats it’s just going to look wrong and will make me look shorter than I actually am.

Well my half day at work is over time for me to head to the printers than home to sleep.

Today’s Random Stuff

Salt and Pepper White Chocolate

Sitting her in the office getting things done for next week’s events I take a break to write because paper cuts are not my thing.

So today on my way to the printers there was a check point the cops stopped every car and checked all paper, when it came my turn I took a while trying to find the car registration keep in my I have a rental, by the time I found it the cop relaxed a bit he looked angry before it was my turn, anyways I also have a UAE license so that was in my favor he noticed that I put my seat belt on when I saw him. He took a look at the car registration and my license and gave them back and said I can go. Love having a UAE license works so good with having a rental.

I went to pick up my niece from nursery  today in my lunch break, never thought a 1 year old can make me laugh do much, she’s cute and she knows it. Every time I pick her up it’s very difficult for the both of us when I have to leave her and go to work.

With all that said this is not the reason I wanted to write today, mostly I just wanted to vent and I’m hungry need to get my mind off of food and stop Googling restaurant and bakeries. Plus work at a company where food and sweets is an everyday topic really gets to me. Today they got white chocolate with salt and pepper I don’t like white chocolate at all but this wired as it is was simply amazing don’t eat chocolate but working here and all these samples are being sent I just can’t help myself but eat chocolate and cakes and crumbs and cookies and salads and things I never tried before and they all taste so damn good. I love love this job and the coffee of course.

SAS-

As I search and watch all these things, people, companies and blog post about wedding planners it seems to be it’s the new “Trend” here in Ktown.  Maybe I’m seeing it now because I’m researching the event planning/organizing market but dear god there are so many of them. The younger ones copy the older ones the middle ones do their own thing, some are amazing and some are just simply a copy and some are so unique it makes the whole wedding out of this world.

From this long research I learnt that too many wedding planners not so much party/reception event planning and corporate so here is my choices and of course I picked party/reception event planning. Meet with lots of catering companies, balloon suppliers, flower supplies, and cake and sweets. For give-a-ways I like to do that on my own (check our instagram for pictures). For me I like to do most of the requirements myself unless I really really can’t do it myself.

That’s that for  now for SAS Events

Event Planners

event-planner-26584727

So recently I have been contacting wedding planners (not for me anytime soon) to see what they offer and how different are they from each other, I meet one a couple days ago that I was in such a surprise the whole time I was just thinking of ways to get out of there. Like OMG I know you’re a guy and straight but that doesn’t make you the greatest wedding planner in Kuwait. The lies and stories and OMG how can someone be so full of themselves.  I don’t want to bad mouth anyone but this was a major shock to me, like he told to me he says this to his clients “I know it’s your wedding but it’s up to be to make all the decisions, all you have to do is give me your colors”

I was like to myself “why would I want someone like this to do my wedding?”

But some women are ok with that I guess since he does have a client list. I don’t think I will ever go see this planner ever again I don’t want to even learn anything from him. For me I think any event is what the client wants the client gets all my job is to get it done for them and make it 100 times better than what they have imagined because that’s what an event planner does, not take over and the client has no say what so ever at the end of the day it’s their money not yours.

Oh forgot to mention that his only goal is to be famous. “Nooo”

One more this I forgot to mention again is that he said “he gets his Kosha (bridal stage) designs from USA” i have never seen in my life a Kosha in a Western wedding bridal table maybe but not Kosha. This is what he says to his clients. SERIOUSLY!!!

As you can see he makes me very frustrated.

Another wedding planner I’m working with she is simply amazing she gives the client what they ask for and more, listens to what they want, delivers what they asked for and more. This is what I’m trying to learn to do for my business again its money from their pockets they should get what they paid for.

But with all of that I learned how to be an event planner how to please my clients and what not to do. The Do’s and Don’ts of event planning.

True I don’t want to be a wedding planner but that’s the hardest event to plan getting through one wedding is like going through five birthday parties. The process of a wedding is extremely stressful for the bride, the mother, the sisters and most of all the planner and her/his team.

To be one of the best event planners you got to do the dirty work first, learn from who you think is the best than become your own.

SAS Events Update

SAS-

I have been working on SAS Events a lot lately I knew it will be hard work to get this project of mine moving and getting my name out there.

Searching for all kinds of suppliers gathering ideas making my portfolio trying to do a business plan company profile list of prices. I knew I had a lot of work ahead of me to just get it started before I get my foot out the door. I want to be ready and set with everything before my first official event under SAS Events belt. It’s important to me to have a full file ready and I don’t want my answer to a client be “sorry we’re working on that now” I want to say “here have a look” with a great big smile on my face.

Hopefully I will finish all of these within 3 months that way by beginning 2014 my dream will be set on PLAY. With advertizing in a unique matter so awesome you would pretend it’s your Birthday just so I can plan it for you 😉

My Little Weekend

homerizlazyazz_couch_potato

With this broken toe I thought I’ll get away with running errands and driving all over Kuwait, but of course I was wrong to even think I could be off my feet for 4 days let alone 1 day. I thought it would be the same when I broke my arm I had people driving me around, feeding me, helping me get dressed and feeding me I know I said that twice but I was pampered. I guess with a broken toe you can do everything on your own 😦

I traveled to Dubai with a broken toe assuming I’ll get some sort of treatment at the airport but again I was wrong all I got was that I didn’t wait in line at the passport control and the airport car drove me to the gate I guess I did get a special treatment. I was wrong once again.

At the airport there was this family I’m sure it was their first time ever traveling because the girl asked her father when we come back to Kuwait do we also have to pay for a ticket we are coming back home? She did have a point there. Anyways the son was my problem all he wanted to do was eat everything on the flight, and out of all the seats he sat behind me I yelled at him and his father more than I can count but nothing the kid was simply annoying. I fell asleep and suddenly something woke me up to my surprise that damn kid has come to sit next to me and get this he put my bag on the floor and actually was lying down with his nasty feet very close to me so I turn to the father and tell him off again and the mother comes and switches seats. I was so angry the whole flight to Dubai.

When we got on the bus that damn kid again comes next to me and he steps on my broken toe so naturally the meanness and angry me comes out I started yelling and swearing in English which they didn’t understand and his parents did nothing absolutely nothing. These people shouldn’t be allowed to have kids.

In Dubai all I did was lie down on the couch and watch all my shows CSI, CSI NY, White Collar, Switched at Birth, Modern Family, Suites and Happy Endings. 4 days to watch all the episodes of the last seasons on Showtime it was a nice relaxing weekend for me I didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything and my plan worked perfectly.

Anyways the broken toe got me nothing expects endless pain and no shoes to wear. “If the shoe don’t fit the crime don’t fit” OJ Simpsons trial famous quote I just used shoes instead of glove.

No Idea How That Happened

Apparently I broke my toe mor than 15 days ago and didn’t really realize it untill yesterday.

After wear high heels for the opening of Cafè November for 3 hours and walking around getting things done by the time I got home my toe was just so painful I couldn’t sleep. By morning I went to the hospital and here come the joke….

It was broken more than 15 days and it healed itself.

I was telling my mother and sister its broke but they wouldn’t believe me, my sister says the same thing every time I break a bone “if its broken it snaps and you die”
And my mother always says “if its broken you would be crying now from pain”

Well than a broken toe is very painful and especially the same foot you drive with..
