The Sand Pit Run (Post Event)

The Sand Pit Run 1

The Sand Pit Run 2

A record participation of 1,100 enthusiasts marks off the first season of this much-awaited event.

In an exhilarating environment amidst fun and cheer; Dubai’s Al Barari came alive with The Sand Pit’s debut obstacle run on April 17, 2015.

Conceptualized bearing in mind an aim of showing people that they are capable of taking on challenges by working together towards a shared goal; the event’s debut event logged in an impressive 1,100 number of participants including individuals and groups. As The Sand Pit Run flagged off, participants were seen cruising further and overcoming obstacles with team effort. The only event in the Middle East that’s focussed solely on an untimed obstacle run, the primary intention was offering a fun event rather than a competition. The entire event was buzzing with efficient comradeship as ‘Pitizens’ turned up in various costumes and realised their true potential in physical and mental abilities whilst having fun.

Speaking about the event; Firas Masri, Co-Founder and CEO of The Sand Pit said, “It is encouraging to experience the kind of support and turn around we received on our debut event. Our motive was to devise a bi annual sports event that is full of challenges both mental and physical but at the same time, an event that will make people achieve it together and not pit them against each other in competition. A winning streak when achieved with a team effort always feels more rewarding and conditions the mind better for real-life situations. We are happy that participants just let loose and simply had fun.”

UAE’s first ever untimed fitness challenge; runners in The Sand Pit worked together to overcome 15 obstacles ranging from crawling under barbed wires, a 4 meter slide into a water pit, a run on sand dunes, climbing up a 3 mtr wall to sliding on ice cold water; to name a few. With interesting titles, the obstacles like ‘Sub Zero’, ‘Into The Pit’, ‘Stride of Pride’, ‘The Ape Dome’, ‘Alcatraz’ etc. were designed not only to test mental and physical abilities but also encourage collaboration as opposed to competition in obstacles like, ‘The Quarter Pipe’, ‘A Friend In Need’ and ‘Walley’ to name a few.

The Sand Pit Challange

Running

The Sand Pit is a unique 10 km obstacle run that tests your limits, physical strength and mental abilities.

The Sand Pit is not a race; it is a challenge that is not time based. Participants are required to help each other complete the course, challenge themselves and have fun! The obstacles are created to encourage participants to work together as a group as opposed to against each other.

Climb over 3 meter walls, run up sand dunes, slide through freezing cold water and many more exciting obstacles feature in the course. Participants can sign up as individuals, a team or as a company. The run will take place at Al Barari, UAE. For further information on registration and the race kindly log onto www.thesandpitrun.com

Kuwait vs. Uzbakistan update

I just received a broadcast saying that Mesad Nada has been punished and will not be playing for 2 games, guess we know why?

Inshalla we win this game to rub it in their faces and maybe they will be more afraid and respect our players.

Below is an article I got from www.kooora.com

Kuwait coach Goran Tufegdzic blasted Asian Cup organizers on Tuesday after they handed defender Mesad Nada a two-match suspension following his red card against China on Saturday.

Nada was sent off for kicking striker Yang Xu in the groin after 36 minutes in their opening Group A match. The incident was the turning point in the game, and without him Kuwait were exposed at the back and lost 2-0.

An angry Tufegdzic said the punishment did not fit the crime.

“Yesterday I saw a letter that said he had been banned for one match, now I have just been informed he has a two-match punishment, and I don’t understand why,” the Serbian told reporters in his media conference ahead of Wednesday’s match against Uzbekistan.

“He made a mistake, but he does not deserve to miss two matches.”

Tournament Director Tokuaki Suzuki said the extra match ban was imposed because of the serious nature of the incident.

Suzuki also said South Korean defender Kwak Tae-hwi, who was sent off in Monday’s 2-1 win over Bahrain, would be automatically suspended for one match.

Q8 vs. Iraq

Everyone that watches games of any kind has a superstation of how they can let their team win, my dad has a very funny one he has to stand up and every time the team he cheers for get close to the goal he has to turn off the TV and this goes on till the end of the game he does believe it works, mine is similar I have to close my eyes and say goal goal goal and for a final game like the one that’s gonna be on Sunday I have to cheer for the other team even thou I don’t want to but that to me will help (gobasa 😛 ).

I believe I had something to do with the last Gulf cup I was cheering for Oman not UAE and UAE got it even thou I really wanted UAE to take actually anyone other than Oman, because when my sister and I went to Q8 vs. Oman they almost hit us when they scored the first goal, we were sitting at the family section of the stadium near Oman spectators dressed all in blue in between all the Oman people, it was scary. We ended up getting into some Q80 Sheikh’s car after running away from that section moving to the Q80 side of the stadium.

Let’s hope and pray to god that Q8 gets the cup we need to make it 10 times I don’t like odd numbers.

Today I’m gonna make a jersey with of course Bader Al-Mutawa’s number on it 17 and I’ll wear it all day Sunday, I think he’s like the nest basher Abdulla don’t you think so?

What’s your superstation when watching a game?
