Office Problems

Negativity

I have read the book Secrets it says when you send out positive or negative energy to the universe you will get back the same energy. The power of energy is somewhat real to me but I believe if you do something good something good will come back to you and I’m sure I’m not the only one in the world that believes in this.

Here is my issue I have a colleague that is so negative it effects everyone around here and since I’m closer to her I feel it more, she always looks at the bad side of things and has a negative outlook on everything we do at the company, new clients we sign and every little thing that happens I reached my limit with her honest to god its bringing everyone down especially me.

I want a way to tell her not to do this anymore but in a nice way where she doesn’t take it personally even though it is. PLEASE HELP!!

Personal Belongings

I like to drink my green tea in a big mug which I brought to the office from home and I have made sure everyone knew its mine. The issue is that this 20 year old kid doesn’t seem to understand that I do not like anyone drinking or touching my stuff (OCD) he did it the first time and I simply said “don’t use my mug please” but that didn’t get to him because yesterday he used it and make coffee with milk (I hate the smell of milk and coffee smell doesn’t go away when you wash it for the first time) so I said to him in a very polite way “don’t use my mug every again” his reply is what got me so mad “I didn’t use it I only drank from it”

I was so angry I thought why should I be nice “I guess your parents didn’t teach you to respect others” “you’re a disgusting human”

I understand that I should of let it go but these types of people that have no boundaries, like once I left my water bottle on the table and because he was thirsty and too lazy to walk 5 steps to get his own he drank from mine. That’s not all he is a very dirty disgusting person he once found an old chewed gum in his pocket and popped it in his mouth. The good thing is his last working day in June 1st so I only have to handle this for less than a month.

Not Flying anytime SOON!!!

airplane

This weekend I went to Kuwait, the trip overall was great until my flight last night.

My flight was delayed 2 hours which is not an issue but for someone that’s up from 7am and slept at 2am is a problem the delay was not a problem as much as the flight its self, I thought I was going to die.

So here’s what happened from taking off to landing.

Taking off to me felt very wrong it was not smooth at all I let that go but when you’re in midair and the plane starts to shake and move left and right that is a problem the plane kept of going sideways I thought this is ok until it was time to land. I felt this is the day I will die the plane was going down and pulled back up so many times, during this all I thought of was “please god don’t let me die like this” I thought of those people on the Germany flight that went down a while back and what were their last thoughts, you don’t see your life flash before your eyes you actually think how will I survive this? How am I going to feel when I know its time? How is my mother going to feel? What will happen to them? All that goes in your head is “Pease god I don’t want to die like this.”  “I don’t want to die on my birthday”

The entire time I was looking at the screen in front of me to see how long more till we land and landing wasn’t any good either, when landing a plane the pilot will slow down to a complete stop but not yesterday the pilot just wanted the plane to stop so as soon as we landed it felt like he hit the brakes so hard to stop the plane and it kept on shaking.

When we got to a complete stop the pilot says “just for your information there was nothing wrong with the flight it’s just that there was a big cloud and the plane before us was heavy that’s why the plane was shaking”

I wanted to go punch him in the face this is not real not true. When you exit the plane the stewardess would say “Thank you, see you next time”

My only reply was “NO!”

I will never ever fly on FlyDubai ever again, I had one bad experience with Kuwait Airways and I haven’t been on it since so FlyDubai is now on that list.

On April 28th I stopped by Poupa Salon Nail Spa in City Walk next to Godiva and the playground. It was around 6:30pm, and I had hoped there was no traffic which for the first time there wasn’t any and parking was empty. I parked in parking 3 which was a bit far from the salon I should have parked at 3 which would have been right next to the salon. I didn’t get to wait at the reception as soon as I walked in they got started. This was great!

I liked the fact that it was very quiet some salons I have went to in the past the employees are just too loud not thinking that we are here to relax from a long day and just want to close our eyes and relax.

I got my eyebrows doing and the lady that did it was from Tunisia (I didn’t get her name) she was amazing I loved the fact that she looked at every hair that was out of place and removed it. As I started to do my nails I was offered coffee which I always love to have while doing anything at a salon.

I loved every part except when it was time to message my feet the technician was not as good as I hope she just rubbed my feet, one of my favorite part of a Mani & Pedi is the message actually my only favorite par.

“Overall, my experience with the Poupa Salon Nail Spa was positive. I was happy with my experience and the ladies were very nice. And on your first visit to the salon you get a 15% discount on your next appointment.

For my birthday this year I want to have a weekend (Friday – Saturday) all to myself book a hotel room for 1 night turn off my phone and just be with me for 24 hours.

I’m looking at hotels in Abu Dhabi, RAK and Dubai I don’t want to drive for more than an hour even Abu Dhabi seems far. Maybe Dubai (JBR or Jabal Ali) or Ghantoot I just want to relax let go for just 24 hours refresh my mind.

These are my 3 top pick for my Birthday Weekend (after)

Move pick Ibn Batutta

Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotel & Resort

The Ritz-Carlton Dubai Marina

I’m listing these here just in case family and friends want to know what to get me for my birthday. Keep in mind people this is the kick off for the last year of my 20’s I have too and must make it in a way I will never ever forget and to have a story.

I want to know what did you do for your 29th birthday and who you have spent the last year of your 20’s, share with us your story or if you have any ideas of how I should kick off this new year for me.

Keep growing! Keep moving! Keep loving!

A New Getaway!!!!

On Friday Morning we drove to Banyan Tree Beach Ras Al Khaimah at the time we booked we thought it was Banyan Tree Al Wadi Ras Al Khaimah and that’s what we searched but when we got there we found out it’s at the other Banyan Tree. It was amazing the atmosphere, the staff, the food and the cold beach oh my god was it cold by 4 pm we well I couldn’t go in. I loved the place a definite secret getaway not so many people where there.

We drove from Mirdif to RAK for about 40 minutes (we are not counting the 20 minutes wasted going to the wrong hotel) when we arrived at the location we had to take a boat to the hotel it was for about 5 minutes not long. The Day pass is for 200 AED plus 10% service charge includes towel, cold water, nuts and cold face towels. Lunch was pretty good not things I would normally eat but the pizza, Angus burger and the sweet potato fries were delicious.

I would defiantly go back at any time, next time I will book the villa with a private pool and stay the night because by the time I got home at 8pm I was dead tired slept on the couch for like 2 hours. Defiantly next time booking the night.

Your next staycation getaway!!

My Body My Island My Rules

I thought today I should share with you my daily workouts, here we go!

  • Squats
  • Lunges
  • Burpees
  • Wall Sit
  • Walking
  • Jogging
  • Sit Ups
  • Crunches
  • Leg Raises
  • Plank

When I first started these I used the 30 day challenges to see if I can do it and it worked perfectly, I loved the way I felt, the energy I had and  the amount of food I was eating which for me is a god given miracle to eat so much food.

Tip 1: If it’s your first time at working out try the 30 challenges at http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/ pick 2 at first and after you have accomplished the challenge start with walking and jogging before you start new challenges.

Tip 2: Every fitness trainer or anyone in that matter would tell you do not push yourself its true don’t push yourself over your limit but do push yourself at finishing the goal you have set for yourself for that day.

Tip 3: Take a break 1 day a week I usually take Fridays because it’s when my whole family gathers at the house and we eat and eat and eat the reason for that is we all work out and our cheat day is my mother’s happy day she gets to feed her kids.

Tip 4: Always keep track of all the workouts you do download an app, make an excel sheet (my favorite thing ever) this will show you how well you did and it will motivate you to keep going.

Tip 5: Drink lots and lots of water and eat small portions meals. EAT!

Tip 6: And please make sure you have the right shoes on. Mine are Adidas.

It works for ME and do what works for YOU!

Here’s a thing I find strange!!

How come some people are ashamed of where they come from? They pretend to be someone they’re not or come from somewhere they only lived in for a few years and completely forget where they came from. Someone please explain this to me.

I am very very proud of where I come from first and for most I am Kuwaiti, Canadian and Emirati at heart the reason for that is I have lived in Kuwait from birth to age 7 then Canada until I was 16 then the move to UAE until I was 26 and back to Kuwait until last year now and finally Dubai at age 28. Living in these places made me who I am today but they are not what I am. I am me a Kuwaiti Canadian weirdo that lives in Dubai. I love these places they are my home they are a part of me, it’s strange when someone asks me where I come from because for me I’m from these  places, so I am multi-national I guess.

Kuwait – My Home – My Blood – My Life

Canada – My Home – My Childhood – My Athletic Years

UAE – My Home – My Family – My Endings

#MyKuwait

#MyDubai

#MyCanada

So back to these shameful individuals I ask you to explain to me why are you ashamed of your heritage, family, home, who you are and most of all how do you raise your kids in such a matter? Shouldn’t you be proud? Isn’t this what made you who you are? What are you trying to accomplish?

I just want to understand the logic these people have behind hiding who they are. Where you come from is what makes you the person you are today and tomorrow.

Singing off as proud as can be!

The Sand Pit Run (Post Event)

The Sand Pit Run 1

The Sand Pit Run 2

A record participation of 1,100 enthusiasts marks off the first season of this much-awaited event.

In an exhilarating environment amidst fun and cheer; Dubai’s Al Barari came alive with The Sand Pit’s debut obstacle run on April 17, 2015.

Conceptualized bearing in mind an aim of showing people that they are capable of taking on challenges by working together towards a shared goal; the event’s debut event logged in an impressive 1,100 number of participants including individuals and groups. As The Sand Pit Run flagged off, participants were seen cruising further and overcoming obstacles with team effort. The only event in the Middle East that’s focussed solely on an untimed obstacle run, the primary intention was offering a fun event rather than a competition. The entire event was buzzing with efficient comradeship as ‘Pitizens’ turned up in various costumes and realised their true potential in physical and mental abilities whilst having fun.

Speaking about the event; Firas Masri, Co-Founder and CEO of The Sand Pit said, “It is encouraging to experience the kind of support and turn around we received on our debut event. Our motive was to devise a bi annual sports event that is full of challenges both mental and physical but at the same time, an event that will make people achieve it together and not pit them against each other in competition. A winning streak when achieved with a team effort always feels more rewarding and conditions the mind better for real-life situations. We are happy that participants just let loose and simply had fun.”

UAE’s first ever untimed fitness challenge; runners in The Sand Pit worked together to overcome 15 obstacles ranging from crawling under barbed wires, a 4 meter slide into a water pit, a run on sand dunes, climbing up a 3 mtr wall to sliding on ice cold water; to name a few. With interesting titles, the obstacles like ‘Sub Zero’, ‘Into The Pit’, ‘Stride of Pride’, ‘The Ape Dome’, ‘Alcatraz’ etc. were designed not only to test mental and physical abilities but also encourage collaboration as opposed to competition in obstacles like, ‘The Quarter Pipe’, ‘A Friend In Need’ and ‘Walley’ to name a few.
